Description The Checklist is based on the Sport Pilot practical test standards and organized by areas of operation and specific tasks required for the practical test. The Kneeboard Checklist can be used for two purposes:
The Checklist is based on the Sport Pilot Practical test standards and organized by Areas of Operation and specific Tasks required for the Practical test. There are also places to record student information, instructor information, and log in/out times for ground and flight time. 1. As a "Lesson Plan Guide" Student time in to start the lesson provides a "time in" when ground school time of the lesson/session starts. The areas of operation with the specific tasks planned for the lesson are circled. Additional tasks not listed on the checklist are added at the bottom in the open space. This is used as a checklist by the instructor to make sure all the tasks for the lesson are completed, and/or the instructor can grade each task during flight for student post flight briefing. The Kneeboard Checklist is sized so it can be put on a clip board and carried by the instructor throughout the lesson. Remarks are added for a lesson summary and lesson accomplishments. After the flight time is recorded and the session ends the times are entered and both the student and instructor have a record of lesson details and a business receipt. This is used in addition to the Training Task Log progress and the lesson plan in the Sport Pilot Training Syllabus. 2. As a "Practical Test Checklist" This Kneeboard Checklist is designed with the specific tasks required for the Practical Test including the Oral and Flight exams. An Examiner or Flight Instructor can circle the selected/required tasks, while numbering them in the Plan of Action order. A Pass or Fail record is then entered for each completed task. Using this checklist assures no tasks are missed and the Practical test is completed in its entirety. It can also be used by the student or instructor during mock Practical Test preparation. Overall it is another great tool to facilitate effective training and record keeping. |
